Today, 4th September 2024, Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) Calabar, with support from HIVOS under the WeLead project, commemorated the 2024 World Sexual Health Day with an incredible Youth Conference in Calabar, Cross River State.

 

The 2024 Youth Conference on Sexual Health brought together passionate young people who came to learn, share, and empower each other. 

GPI was honored to collaborate with over 15 youth-led/focused organizations, UNFPA and the University of Calabar Youth Hub.

Highlights of the Event:

– Dance Presentation 

– Keynote Address on: *Young People’s SRHR Situation, The CRS Experience: Roses, Thorns, and the Way Forward* 

– Spoken Word Presentation 

– Panel Discussion

     .   Exhibition of SRHR knowledge products and arts

– Q&A Session etc

In attendance were: The Chair CRS House of Assembly Committee on Women Development,

 Hon. Commissioner CRS ministry for Youth Development, Representatives of the Commissioners for Women Affairs and Health, the Head of Office UNFPA and his team, the Director National orientation Agency, the GM CRBC, SA NGOs/OWOG, SA Gender, The President Medical Women Association MDAs, UNICAL Youth Hub, CAN, SUG UNICAL other CSOs etc.
