Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) Calabar Centre Celebrates her 27th Graduation and Public Education Ceremony.

 

On August 17, 2024, Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) Calabar Centre hosted her 27th Graduation and Public Education Ceremony, coinciding with the 2024 International Youth Day. Themed “From Clicks to Progress: Igniting Young Minds for Empowerment,”

the event honored beneficiaries who completed the three-year comprehensive Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR)/Entrepreneurial Development training at the Calabar Centre and those who finished the one-year program at the Akpabuyo Safe Space Center. A total of 39 graduates were recognized as certified peer educators.

The ceremony featured:

– Paper Presentation by a GPI Graduate.

– Presentation of Gift Items to the graduates.

– News Presentation: Delivered by GPI girls.

– Valedictory Speeches: Graduates shared personal success stories, highlighting their increased self-esteem, goal-setting abilities, and other accomplishments.

– Cutting of cake to mark GPI Calabar Safe Space Center’s 30th Anniversary.

 

Parents of the graduates spoke about the positive impact of the program on their children, while the graduates themselves shared inspiring stories of personal and professional growth.
