As part of the WeLead project activities aimed at strengthening CSOs movements and networks to advocate for improved access to sexual and reproductive health and rights information and service for rights holders, Girls’Power Initiative (GPI) Calabar Centre paid advocacy visits to the leadership of Heartland Alliance office in Calabar and the Director General (DG), Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency on the 27th and 28th of June 2022 respectively.

The advocacy visits were to build strategic partnerships/collaboration and to identify existing health structures providing SRHR information and service for the target groups of rights holders (young women living with HIV, those with disabilities, LGBTQI+ and those affected by displacement) as well as gaps. Outcome of the visits included Suggestions on areas for capacity strengthening for service providers, suggestions on personnel to be targeted during the situation analyses assessment, information on existing one stop shops (OSS) operated by heartland alliance across the state that referrals can be made for RHs etc.
