GPI Calabar continues to strengthen community partners in ending violence against women and girls in Cross River State by setting up community groups under the Community Partnership Group on Girls Empowerment (CPGGE) initiative.

In 2017, GPI held a training for facilitators from several different communities in Cross River State who wished to be a part of CPGGE and who planned on hosting trainings and sensitization programs in their own communities.

GPI now supports several of these these local CPGGE groups to host sensitization programs on topics such as female genital mutilation, early marriage, teenage pregnancy, drugs and alcohol abuse and more.

GPI will attend these sensitization programs, which are hosted by the local community group, to add value and to answer questions from community members.
