Day of the African Child (DAC) 2022.

The international Day of the African Child commemorates the 16 June 1976 student uprising in Soweto, South Africa where demonstration was led by African students who were against apartheid-inspired education.

The theme for the Day of the African Child (DAC) 2022 is “Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children: Progress on Policy & Practice since 2013”.

The International Day of the African Child focuses on the obstacles that are restricting African kids from receiving quality education. International Day of the African Child is marked yearly on the 16th of June by the African Union and its Member States. Every year we join child rights activists, communities and organizations to put in vital efforts to strengthen the child’s rights and support them to reach their full potentials.
