Girls’ Power Initiative was very pleased to celebrate her 25th Anniversary and the 23rd Graduation/Public Education Ceremony on September 7, 2019!

We celebrated graduates from the three-year Safe Space Program at GPI in Calabar as well as from the fish farming, fashion design and shoemaking classes from our Entrepreneurship Skills Training program. Graduates from the one-year Safe Space Program in Akpabuyo joined us in the celebrations as well. 

The ceremony was a huge success, making lasting memories for anyone who attended the event. There were a number of notable persons in attendance to congratulate the graduates on their accomplishments, as well as family members and friends who were no doubt very happy and proud to watch the graduates accept their certificates and awards. 

The theme was Roses and Thorns and we acknowledged all the successes and struggles GPI has had as an organization since our founding 25 years ago. We’re going to continue working towards our goal to empower women and girls in Nigeria for the next 25 years and beyond!
