Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) Calabar center, supported by Lafarge Africa Plc., held a grant-giving ceremony to empower 60 women in business from Lafarge host communities and their evacuation routes in Cross River State. The ceremony took place in Calabar.
The aim of the ceremony was to empower women through financial support and recognition for their entrepreneurial ventures.
Highlights of the Event:
– Presentation of seed grants.
– Experience sharing by the beneficiaries.
– Goodwill messages from MDAs and stakeholders present
Other stakeholders in attendance were; from the Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA), the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Relations, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, village heads and members of the Community Relations Committee (CRC) and some GPI staff.
