Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) is a Nigerian not-for-profit, Non-Governmental Organization founded in1993 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 1997. GPI currently has physical offices in 4 states in the South-South geo-political zone of Nigeria (Akwa Ibom, Cross River Delta and Edo) as well as a Liaison office in Abuja. GPI’s core education, skills building, research and advocacy programmes began in 1994 and primary beneficiaries of these programmes include in and out of school young girls and women, persons with disability, survivors of SGBV including CEFM and PLWHA.   GPI focuses on the sexual and reproductive health rights education of girls and young women, policy and legislative advocacy skills building, research and community interventions on harmful traditional and contemporary social practices on girls and women.  GPI vigorously promotes gender equality and equity and works with adolescent girls and young women to develop their leadership, capacity to respond and work for social transformation towards gender and social justice.

GPI Calabar seeks the services of:

Communications and Information Technology (IT) Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and management of GPI E-newsletter
  • Manages GPI website
  • Manage GPI online presence
  • Management of the organization’s social media platforms
  • Publicizing of GPI to a wider audience
  • Attend to all communication correspondences
  • Create content for all IEC/SBCC and dissemination
  • Management of all communication and IT equipment

Qualification:

  • Education: Tertiary Institution degree(s) in Mass Communication or any related field.
  • Experiences in information technology, communication and public related jobs will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in the use of computers for:
    Microsoft office, social media and websites
    • E-mail and Internet including digital marketing skills

  1. Front Desk Officer (FDO)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recieve visitors and refer to appriopriate quarters were necessary
  • Ensure reception is tidy
  • Scheduling appointments between staff and visitors
  • Coordinate mail flow in and out of office
  • In charge of time book, movement book and telephone directory book
  • Assist in project and program delivery through carrying out of other assigned duties
  • Acting as a liaison between clients/visitors and coordinator/staff

Qualification: SSCE

  1. Library Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend to library users and keep record of users and books used
  • Take stock of library books
  • Ensure maintenance of library and books
  • Write quarterly library reports and yearly reports
  • Ensure books are cataloged and properly kept
  • Update staff of books available
  • Assist in project and program delivery through carrying out of other assigned duties
