The World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is observed on July 30 to raise awareness about the ordeal of human trafficking victims and the ways to safeguard their rights.

After the pandemic, Human Trafficking issue has transformed into a full-blown crisis. With the rising usage of technology, this crisis has only gotten worse. From reports, thousands of men, women, and children fall victim to this grave violation of human rights.

This year’s theme focuses on the role of technology as a tool that can both enable and impede human trafficking.

Prevention and awareness-raising activities on the safe use of the internet and social media could help mitigate the risk of people falling victim of trafficking online.
