Family Life and HIV Education Project Advisory and Advocacy Committee meeting holds in Calabar
Girls’ Power Initiative in collaboration with Cross River State Ministry of Education (MoE) organized a Project Advisory and Advocacy Committee (PAAC) meeting on August 11, 2016 in Calabar to acquaint members with Family Life and HIV Education (FLHE) project activities executed since the last meeting.In attendance were representatives from MoE, Cross River State Agency for the Control of AIDS; House Committee on Education; Secondary Technical Education Board; Nigerian Union of Teachers; All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools; Association of Primary School Heads of Nigeria among others.
Highlights of the meeting include presentation on the roles and responsibilities of PAAC and activities carried out in 2015 by the Team Leader, MoE Critical Mass; presentation on GPI’s intensive schools outreach programme for Ikom zone; discussion on new members to be incorporated into the committee and financial resource mobilization strategies for implementation of FLHE advocacy activities. Participants resolved that the technical working committee should work with MoE to carry out agreed action steps before the next meeting in November 2016.
