Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) Calabar center held a 2-day Capacity Building on Girls Rights And Advocacy Skills for Girls Advocates.
With support from Girls Not Brides (a global partnership to End Child Marriage) and the National Coalition of Civil Society to End Child Marriage in Nigeria, GPI conducted a 2- day training for girls advocates in Cross River State on the 12th & 13th of April 2023 under the Gender Transformative Approach (GTA) program.
The program was targeted at raising Girls Advocates from selected secondary schools in Calabar Metropolis and Akpabuyo LGAs whose capacities were built on advocacy strategies. The training had 20 girls in attendance who expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to attend the program and shared how they will apply the knowledge and skills gained in their reslective schools, community and society at large.
