Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) Calabar held a 4- Day Capacity Building training on SGBV/CEFM, GESI principles and Child Protection for 30 (thirty) local Community Based organizations (CBOs) and Community leaders in selected Local Government Areas in Cross River and Akwa Ibom States under the Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE) project.

The activity which took place from Tuesday May 2nd – Friday May 5th in Cross River and Tuesday May 9th – Friday May 12th in Akwa Ibom State aimed at increasing participants knowledge on SGBV/CEFM,GESI and child protection and its programming; Identifying concrete actions to strengthen these areas and to discuss tips to support and implement SGBV and GESI interventions in their localities had participants verbally expressing that, the aims were key to SGBV/CEFM programming and that their expectations were met as some particioants had increased knowledge on the issues discussed, shift in social negative values and commitments to take positive actions to prevent and respond to SGBV/CEFM and other related interventions.
