GPI Entrepreneurial and Personal Skills Development:
The nine-month training and internship programme provides out-of-school girls and young women with skills in sewing, shoe making and fish farming, as well as information on small business management. Some graduates who have not yet secure their personal shops also have the opportunity to utilize the GPI’s Creative Commune.
Background
Limited opportunities for girls and young females erodes their ability to achieve and remain competitive. Many girls drop out of school due to the inability of their parents to afford the cost, and thus settle for menial jobs. As a result, girls and young females are confined to the bottom of the ladder. Limitation of choices and options for girls and young females is hampering the achievement of their economic growth and development.
GPI offers its entrepreneurial and personal skills development programme to increase opportunities for the girls and young females to intellectual and economic empowerment and growth.
